NeedTally is a free browser calculator for life insurance coverage need, not for buying a policy. You stack income replacement beside a DIME-style obligation tally, read a low / mid / high planning range, and see what remains after life insurance you already carry. Math runs locally; there is no signup wall and no quote form that sells your contact information.

We are not an insurance carrier, agency, broker, or lead generator. Insurer names may appear in educational copy because households search for them — that is not an endorsement or partnership. Legal detail lives in the terms.

If you already have a written plan from a licensed advisor — with beneficiary review, policy loans, riders, and estate context — treat that document as authoritative. Use NeedTally earlier, when you need visible assumptions and a gap line, not when you need a suitability letter.

What stays out of the product

• No premium quotes, rate tables presented as offers, or “compare carriers” flows
• No phone or email capture before the tally works
• No agent matching, appointment booking, or application submission
• No account that stores your household financials on our servers

The boundary is intentional: this site sizes a planning range and shows the gap after existing coverage. Product choice, underwriting, and tax questions belong elsewhere.
