Privacy Policy

NeedTally ("we") operates needtally.com. The coverage tally is designed so planning math can finish in your browser without treating your household amounts as a sales lead. You enter income, debt, mortgage, education, and existing coverage; the page computes a range and gap locally.

What stays on your device

• Calculator inputs and the low / mid / high results computed in the browser
• Theme preference may be stored in localStorage on your device only
• A service worker may cache static assets (scripts, icons, pages) for offline loading; it does not upload your tally inputs to us

Accounts

There are none. No sign-up, no saved household profile on our servers, and no mailing-list gate before the calculators work.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-NLS6927C8D) to understand aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser, and referral source. Analytics is not linked to calculator inputs. Using the tools does not require analytics.

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out with Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising

Display advertising is not enabled today. If ads are turned on later, third-party ad networks may set cookies under their own policies — this page will be updated first. Calculator inputs would still stay local to the math.

Information we may receive

• Email you send voluntarily to contact@needtally.com — we receive whatever you include (URL, inputs, screenshots) to answer the question or fix a bug, not to build an insurance lead file
• Standard web server and CDN logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability — not used to reconstruct your tally inputs
• Aggregate analytics data as described above — not calculator field values

Children

NeedTally is a general-audience planning tool, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal data, email contact@needtally.com and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy when practices change (for example if analytics or ads are enabled). The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
